Badner has achieved much success in his corporate life, but it is the love and passion for basketball that continues to drive him. HoopDome will enable Badner to reach his ultimate goal, and combine his true passion with his business skills.
Badner has been involved in basketball for over 25 years. He was an accomplished high school player leading Ridley College to back-to-back league championships in 1983 & 1984. Upon completing his playing days, Badner began to get involved with the organizational aspect of basketball. He started working as a volunteer at the Toronto JCC, and helped to introduce basketball to the centre. He was instrumental in launching youth house leagues; boys and girls competitive rep teams and was on the staff of the first summer basketball camps. Badner is a very passionate man who is driving to success both as a businessman and athlete. His vision of basketball in Canada will lead HoopDome to tremendous success.
Badner is currently the senior boy’s basketball coach at Toronto's Newtonbrook Secondary School. He is also an international renowned coach. He has coached Canada’s Junior Boys (under 16) National Maccabi basketball team at the Pan American Maccabiah Games in 1999 in Mexico and again in Israel in 2001, as well as the Youth Boys (under 19) National Maccabi basketball team at the Pan American Maccabiah Games in 2003 in Chile, and again in Israel in 2005. He has captured 2 silver and 1 bronze medals during these competitions. Badner has just been named the head coach of the Canadian Open Men’s basketball team for the upcoming 2007 Pan American Maccabiah Games to be held in Argentina.
